Sit Back And Feel “Homecoming Slumber (In Crete)” By BODHI

With such a calming tone and meaningful lyrics, BODHI has created a track with a myriad of emotions and sounds. The 21-year-old artist out of Norwalk, CT is looking to cement their place in the music industry as a black and queer genre-blending alternative R&B artist. BODHI only started releasing music in 2022 but has been involved with music since the age of 11, singing and playing multiple instruments. Up until the release of “Homecoming Slumber (In Crete),” BODHI has produced all of their music. This last song was BODHI’s first collaboration with a producer, who goes by the name Arcane. The track takes inspiration from R&B, Pop, and Folk, mixing the genres and giving way to BODHI’s tender vocals.

When asked about the inspiration behind this track, BODHI shared “My Fiancé. Every lyric in this song is about the love we share and continue to build every day. I was going through a rough time with my mental health, and I felt as though I wasn’t expressing my feelings towards them as well as I could be. So I sat down and wrote this song. I wanted them to listen to it and be able to see the story I painted (with) my words. The story of us falling in love and never looking back.” These emotions are heartfelt, and clear throughout the song. From the chords and ambient filter to the smooth cadence and excellent delivery, “Homecoming Slumber (In Crete)” fully embodies the essence of what BODHI wanted to create. BODHI also shared with us that “This song was so personal that it just came to me. I think my biggest barrier was making sure I didn’t rush the recording process just because I wanted the song out there so bad.” Another great song from an upcoming artist is in the books and we will be keeping an eye on BODHI going forward.

Catch A Vibe With Mac Stylez And Jimmy Alexander

Vocal range, vocal range, vocal range, that’s the only thought that came across my mind while listening to “Fresh.” It’s rare to find a newer artist with such a strong vocal range. Mac Stylez has the ability and knows how to use it. Singing and making music since the age of 6, Mac Stylez has had the blessing of being around talented musicians his entire life, with that passion for music having been passed down to him. Originally from the United States, but currently residing in Australia, Mac Stylez has been involved in countless bands and music projects which have had great success. It is only now that Mac Stylez is finally stepping out as a solo artist, ready to show the world his musical prowess.

The collaboration between Mac Stylez and Jimmy Alexander on this track seems effortless, but Mac shared with us some of the barriers that this track provided, “Originally this song was written during the Covid lockdowns. So me and my band mate had to coordinate schedules to allow for writing sessions on Zoom. We also couldn’t make it to record vocals until the lockdowns lifted and studios reopened. So that made the completion of this song really difficult.” With all that in the way, Mac Stylez was still able to create a track that was inspired by the desire to create a song that people of all ages and walks of life can groove to. Mac just wants people to enjoy the song and catch on to the positive energy it gives. We love this release and can’t wait to hear more.

Storm Sounds Brings In 2be4gottn And ilysora For “wish you the worst – REMIX”

The collaboration initiative known as Storm Sounds delivered a great track as a part of their “STORM REMIXES, Vol. 2” project. They have teamed up with underground artists 2be4gottn and ilysora to create “wish you the worst – REMIX” which serves as a melodic Hip Hop track over a piano based high paced beat. The emotional lyrics and delivery feed into a catchy hook and addictive sound. Released on February 11th, 2023, “wish you the worst – REMIX” is a great track for any sad rap playlist.
