Neo-soul blesses our ears in the form of “nirvana,” the latest single by Dylan Reese and Los Angeles’ own Phabo. Originally from Chicopee, MA, Dylan Reese has been making music since back in 2010. Crediting consistency, resilience and attention to detail as his strongest traits, Dylan has been no stranger to collaboration as he’s worked with artists like Musiq Soulchild, Twista, Paul Wall and Ye Ali. Dylan Reese has brought buttery vocals and thoughtful storytelling to his music, and it is all highlighted with memorable, yet classic production.
“nirvana” is just one of multiple singles released this year, and as he now lives in Los Angeles, Dylan looks to continue using the internet as a tool to grow his core audience while making use of his new surroundings. He has already accumulated over 20 million streams and has retained a consistent touring history. This latest collab with Phabo is just another step in the right direction.
When asked about the inspiration behind this project, Dylan Reese told us “”nirvana” is a smooth neo-soul jam about “the state of perfect happiness.”” It was written about that someone or something that always helps you relax and even briefly escape. It’s no wonder why Phabo was also the perfect feature for this track, chiming in with his own perspective and experience. The two artists combine to create a loving anthem for 2022, perfect for the colder months of the year. Production by Dylan Heidt and MELK, along with engineering by Matthew Keller bring this whole thing together. We often miss out on this type of deep and romantic music. This track is a great break away from the usual and it was much needed. We definitely want to hear more of Dylan Reese this year.
