Sit Back And Feel “Homecoming Slumber (In Crete)” By BODHI
With such a calming tone and meaningful lyrics, BODHI has created a track with a myriad of emotions and sounds. The 21-year-old artist out of Norwalk, CT is looking to cement their place in the music industry as a black and queer genre-blending alternative R&B artist. BODHI only started releasing music in 2022 but has been involved with music since the age of 11, singing and playing multiple instruments. Up until the release of “Homecoming Slumber (In Crete),” BODHI has produced all of their music. This last song was BODHI’s first collaboration with a producer, who goes by the name Arcane. The track takes inspiration from R&B, Pop, and Folk, mixing the genres and giving way to BODHI’s tender vocals.
When asked about the inspiration behind this track, BODHI shared “My Fiancé. Every lyric in this song is about the love we share and continue to build every day. I was going through a rough time with my mental health, and I felt as though I wasn’t expressing my feelings towards them as well as I could be. So I sat down and wrote this song. I wanted them to listen to it and be able to see the story I painted (with) my words. The story of us falling in love and never looking back.” These emotions are heartfelt, and clear throughout the song. From the chords and ambient filter to the smooth cadence and excellent delivery, “Homecoming Slumber (In Crete)” fully embodies the essence of what BODHI wanted to create. BODHI also shared with us that “This song was so personal that it just came to me. I think my biggest barrier was making sure I didn’t rush the recording process just because I wanted the song out there so bad.” Another great song from an upcoming artist is in the books and we will be keeping an eye on BODHI going forward.
